How To Play On A Shark Infested Golf Course

The water hazard on the 14th hole at the Carbrook Golf Club in Brisbane comes with an extra degree of difficulty: It’s infested with bull sharks.

The sharks found their way into the man-made lake a few years back when the hazard temporarily joined with waters from an overrun river. The 8 to 10-foot sharks stayed put after the water receded, and are reportedly breeding.

“You can’t believe how close you are…just six feet away,” said the club’s GM Scott Wagstaff. “There’s no drama, it’s become a positive thing for the golf course. They are amazing. I’ve become a shark lover since working here.”
