Hosni Mubarak, the former dictator of Egypt who was ousted during
last year’s Arab Spring, has been put on life support after being declared "clinically dead" — though his lawyers say he is not dead yet. Earlier today, he was moved to a military hospital, and along the way, his heart stopped. Although, sources confirm he is currently on life support.
He had fallen into a
coma after a heart attack and stroke. Mubarak was sentenced to life behind bars on June 2 for suppressing a
revolt against his rule in February 2011 during which nearly 850
protesters were killed.
**UPDATE**
Mubarak's attorney says the ex-president is currently in a coma.
