Stubbs, the cat has single-pawedly made the town of Talkeetna, Alaska, into a tourist destination after being elected mayor in a write-in campaign. The mouse-chasing mayor of the town of 900 hangs out at a local general store, from which he fulfills his (mostly honorary) responsibilities.
Stubbs was elected after townspeople said they were dissatisfied with the human candidates—so Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, keep an eye on your pets.
